The Las Piñas – Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) is a wetland of international and national importance, which values youth participation. Despite this, coastal clean-ups are the only way the youth can participate. The objective of the study is to understand the preferred participation of the youth and the factors affecting it. Through understanding how they want to participate and the factors affecting it, plans can be made in involving the youth in the management of LPPWP. The study released an online survey to SHS Students of Las Piñas. A KII was held with the LPPWP Management to know their views on youth participation. The results has shown that most of the youth respondents want to participate in the management of LPPWP, and the LPPWP positively views youth participation. However, the respondents preferred the lower levels (e.g. Sharing of online publication materials) of participation based on the ladder of citizen participation. The main factors affecting youth participation are, awareness, knowledge, advocacy, support from guardians, and peer groups. The outcome of the study has shown that awareness and knowledge about the LPPWP is an influential factor for the respondents. It is recommended to improve the online presence regarding the LPPWP and its activities to boost awareness and knowledge, and partner with schools to reach the youth.
