Numerous studies have documented the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the physical and mental well-being of healthcare workers worldwide. In the Philippines, Filipino CHWs encountered overwhelming challenges caused by the pandemic. Hence, this phenomenological research aimed to delve deeper into their experiences and healing processes within the context of the COVID-19 community quarantine. Although several researchers have examined the experiences of Filipino CHWs, limited research focused on the role of family support in their lives. A semi-structured interview allowed the participants to provide insights into their significant moments during quarantine. The generated themes revealed that Filipino CHWs carried a heavy burden of frontline responsibilities, which have increased their exposure to COVID-19. They expressed fear as they interacted with several people. Participants also suffered from stress when dealing with misinformed individuals and felt loneliness in isolation. Hence, they distanced themselves from their family members by reducing contact and leaving home. However, despite the physical distance, their immediate and extended family members remained close, accepted their responsibilities, trusted their knowledge, and expressed care and concern. Similarly, their coworkers acted as a supportive second family who consistently displayed gratitude and support.
