Pro-Environmental behaviors (PEB) are any actions aimed at protecting the environment from harmful anthropogenic behaviors and activities. It has been highlighted that fostering PEBs, most especially among adolescents, may be especially crucial as they are inheritors of the Earth. However, as reviewed in previous studies, its development is affected by myriad factors that may be unique to each individual. Thus, literature having only been focused mainly on western countries and the adult population (18 years and above) may not exactly translate to the Philippine youth population. Hence, the study was conducted to assess which of the contextual factors (age/ grade level, sex, income class, and source of environmental education) affect the type of PEBs (advocate, green consumer, conservationist, green passenger, and waste avoider) of high school students in City of San Pedro, Laguna, a rapidly urbanizing city with a growing population of adolescents. A total of 385 students were surveyed through self-administered questionnaires. The major findings suggest that contextual factors are only lowly associated with selected PEBs, with grade level showing associations with all PEB types, while Environmental Education shows little to no associations with any PEBs.
