The COVID-19 pandemic changed everyone’s lives since it started. On March 16, 2020, the government of the Philippines declared an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the country. People were not allowed to go outside unless it is highly essential. There are also safety and health protocols that were strictly imposed. These policies affected how and what consumers needed to purchase. Hence, the researcher conducted a study about the consumer’s purchasing behavior before and during the pandemic. The researcher used descriptive analysis with quantitative data to discuss the differences between the two timeframes. The respondents included BS Human Ecology students who answered self administered online survey. There were differences found between the two timeframes with regards to purchasing behavior of usual goods purchased, modes of purchasing, frequency of purchasing, individual budget allocation, and perceived factors influencing purchasing behavior. There are also differences on socio-demographic profile in the two timeframes: area of residency, source of income or allowance, monthly income or allowance. Despite these differences, there are also similarities found in the study.
