The imposition of online education due to the COVID-19 pandemic posed various challenges to students. Previous research studies predominantly focused on specific issues, and some ventured into the general experiences of students. However, there is limited data on the adaptive mechanisms of students. The current study examined the extent of the categories of challenges and coping strategies of students during online learning. Results showed that Learning Environment Challenges (LEC) was the prominent challenge students encountered, influencing other categories. To address the difficulties, students employed problem-focused coping responses. Contrary to the assertions of previous studies, despite being constrained with resources, students still utilized such strategies to maintain quality academic performance. With this observation, the study emphasizes how students navigating the online learning setup could be situational and personal.
